SMC2-Mg Smart Control Unit

Smart Control Unit is a battery operated four terminal device that prevents cathodically protected structures from going beyond the protection potential due to DC interference or telluric effect.

The device electronically adjusts the resistance between Pipe-Earth or Mg Anode-Pipe precisely to keep the Pipe Reference voltage, which it measures via the reference electrode connected to it, at the protection potential desired by the user. In this way, the protection potential is kept under control independently of external factors and interference effects are reduced.

The SMC2-Mg requires no power connection and offers an average service life of 2 years thanks to its long-lasting battery.
